“Improving lives through education, one student at a time.”
Apalachee High School, Barrow County's second high school, opened in 2000.
We are dedicated to our student body and to each teaching moment. Our promise to the Chee Nation is simple: If we show students we care each day, they will succeed. Our students will meet our expectations regularly because we are fair and consistent, but most of all we are accessible. We are excited to work with the future of Barrow County and look forward to the many positive experiences ahead.
Apalachee High School is named for the Apalachee River which defines the southern border of Barrow County. Apalachee is the Choctaw Indian word meaning “allies”. The relationship among faculty, staff, parents, students, and our community forms an unbreakable alliance committed to academic excellence, personal integrity, opportunity through involvement and achievement with honor.
