Welcome to Apalachee High School. I am honored and excited to work with students, teachers, parents, and the community as we seek to improve academically, athletically, artistically, and socially. The 2017-18 school year is full of opportunity, waiting to be grasped by anyone willing to work hard. The AHS faculty and staff are committed to supporting our students as they plan for college and career outcomes, focused on "improving lives through education, one student at a time."

Ivan Welton Fitzwater says,

"The future of the world is in my classroom today, a future with the potential for good or bad...Several future presidents are learning from me today; so are the great writers of the next decades, and so are all of the so-called ordinary people who will make the decisions in a democracy. I must never forget these same young people could be the thieves and murders of the future. Only a teacher? Thank god I have a calling to the greatest profession of all! I must be vigilant every day , lest I lose one fragile opportunity to improve tomorrow.

Apalachee High school is dedicated to our student body and to each teaching moment. Our promise to the Chee Nation is simple: If we show students we care each day, they will succeed. Our students will meet our expectations regularly because we are fair and consistent, but most of all we are accessible. We are excited to work with the future of Barrow County and look forward to the many positive experiences ahead.

Sincerely,
