National Merit Scholarship
Emma Brown was named a Commended Student in the 2018 National Merit Scholarship Program. This honor is about her exceptional academic promise. She placed among 50,000 scorers of more than 1.6 million students. Emma is a big piece of the educational excellence represented in our Nation.
Livestock Show Team
Apalachee livestock show team members competed September 9th at the Clarke-Oconee Cattlemen's Livestock Show. Freshman Worth Aycock exhibited the Grand Champion Market Goat and Junior Carsyn Kennedy exhibited the Reserve Supreme Champion Heifer over all breeds! Both students also won their divisions of showmanship.
United Service Organizations
Apalachee's service organizations collaborated to collect donations for Harmony Science Academy in Beaumont, Texas following hurricane Harvey.
1st Annual Anthony Apple 5k
This event sponsored by Apalachee's cross country team raised funds for the Anthony Apple scholarship fund.
Apalachee FFA Named Two Star Chapter For 2017 National Chapter Award
The Apalachee FFA chapter has been recognized in 2017 National Chapter Award Program from the National FFA Organization. The program recognizes outstanding FFA chapters from throughout the country that actively implement the mission and strategies of the organization. These chapters improve chapter operations using the National Quality FFA Chapter Standards and a Program of Activities that emphasizes growing leaders, building communities and strengthening agriculture. Chapters are rewarded for providing educational experiences for the entire membership.

The Apalachee FFA Chapter was named Community
Service Chapter of the Year while attending the Area II FFA Rally on September 7th and 8th. This honor was won after the chapter collected 127 pounds of aluminum pop tabs that were donated to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. The chapter would like to thank all members, parents, partners and community members that saved and donated tabs for this worthy cause.
Apalachee track and field hosted the Johnny's Pizza Apalachee Invitational. 375 athletes competed.
The Apalachee High School SkillsUSA Team participated in Region 2 competitions at North Georgia Technical College.

The Apalachee High School Chorus participated in LGPE, March 22, 2018. They received all superior ratings in both performance and sight reading categories.
The Apalachee High School Concert and Symphonic Bands traveled to East Jackson Comprehensive High School to participate in the Georgia Music Educators District 14 Large Group Performance Evaluation (LGPE). Both bands earned ratings of superior from all three judges on their prepared stage performances and ratings of superior in sight-reading as well.
The BCSS Finalists for the 2018 Georgia Governor's Honors Program are: AHS, Elijah Craig, Science, AHS, Kelly Eick, Communicative Arts, AHS, Holly McCauley, Social Studies, and AHS, Maraline Saenz, World Languages: Spanish.
