Administration

Welcome to Bramlett Elementary School! Bramlett Elementary School (BRES) is bordered by rural property, commercial property, the beautiful Chateau Elan Vineyard, and the quaint city of Auburn.  Our school is on a beautiful and peaceful 34 acre campus. The school was built in 1992 and named in honor of Mr. Wilbur Buford Bramlett, a local esteemed educator who served Barrow County students as a teacher, coach, and superintendent over several generations.  This strong educational history sets the tone for a rich learning and community culture at BRES. We are glad that you are part of our Bramlett family as we form a partnership to support your child’s development. With over thirty years of service to the Barrow County School System, I continue to find great joy in working with students, parents, and our incredible faculty and staff. It doesn’t get any better than Bramlett Elementary! It is a blessing to serve as the principal of such an amazing place to work and learn.

An open line of communication is critical in creating a positive and supportive learning environment and helps to bridge the gap from home to school. At Bramlett we use of variety of methods to communicate general information and events. Email is one of the most timely and efficient ways for your teacher, principal, and the district administration to communicate with families. Teachers are expected to respond to emails within one working day. Our school’s website is a wonderful means for communication. We have recently added a feedback form in hopes of increasing the feedback you may provide to our school.  You might find it helpful to download the district mobile app as well. This app offers students, parents, and anyone interested in the Barrow County School System access to a comprehensive suite of apps developed to provide timely and helpful school and district information.  The app can be downloaded from the Barrow County Schools website. ParentLink is a tool used by Bramlett to communicate important information directly to you via email or automated phone message. ParentLink is also used by the district to communicate with you in the event of a school-wide or district-wide emergency or urgent event.   The ParentLink system uses your contact information you have on file with the school.  Therefore, please take a few minutes this year to check with your child’s teacher to make sure your contact information, such as your telephone number and email, is up-to-date.  PeachJar is used to deliver digital flyers to parents with important information about school-related activities. You will be able to view these digital flyers via email or directly from the link on the school website. Many of our teachers utilize Remind to communicate with parents.  Remind is a communication tool that helps teachers connect instantly with parents. Remind enables teacher and parents to send quick, simple messages to any device. Our school also utilizes the more traditional methods of keeping you informed about your child’s progress with newsletters, report cards, and our Wednesday Folders which contain student work, assessments, and communication from the school.  Please watch for this folder and review its contents weekly.

2017-2018 is going to be an amazing year at Bramlett as we implement several curriculum and procedural changes! We are BARROW BOLD and BRAMLETT BLESSED!  If I can be of any assistance to you in making this your child’s best year ever, please don’t hesitate to email me at karen.gresham-dowis@barrow.k12.ga.us.

Welcome EAGLES! I am excited to join the outstanding faculty and staff here at Bramlett Elementary. This school year marks my eleventh year with the BCSS.  Prior to becoming the assistant principal here, I served first as a teacher and later as an instructional coach and administrative assistant at Bear Creek Middle School.   I actually began my learning experiences right here in Barrow County.  I attended Statham Elementary, then Winder-Barrow Middle School, and graduated from Winder-Barrow High School.  The BCSS is truly a “home away from home” for me. I am so thankful for the opportunity to serve the students, parents, staff, and community of Bramlett Elementary, where we are SOARING ABOVE THE REST!
