Thank you for visiting Holsenbeck Elementary School’s web page to learn more about our Holsenbeck Family. You will find that Holsenbeck has a dedicated staff whose primary focus is on student success.

At Holsenbeck Elementary School, we offer numerous opportunities to support student success. We have a morning session called SOAR (Students Optimizing Arithmetic and Reading) where the teachers work together to identify and plan alternative instructional strategies for student success. SOAR time is offered throughout the school from 8:30 - 9:00. I encourage all of our car riders to arrive (be in the building) by 8:30 so we can maximize his/her SOAR time.

I have the privilege of working with our PTO (Parent Teacher Organization) officers and board members. Our PTO sponsors numerous events throughout the school year for our students.  Holsenbeck is fortunate to have such a dedicated group of parents whose number one goal is to support students. Currently, we have eleven business partners. We love our business partners and the benefits of the partnership are significant. The businesses gain a better understanding of the public school system and are recognized as a business that cares about the education of our children and the community. If you are

interested in becoming a Partner-in-Education with Holsenbeck Elementary, please contact Felicia Wright by calling the school at 770-307-1540.

We encourage you to join us for events happening at the school. Please check your child’s agenda for dates and always check those Wednesday folders for up to date information. We would love to have you join us for lunch. Please remember that outside food is not allowed when visiting (see handbook pages 21-23 for more information). All you need to do is send a note to your child’s teacher the morning you plan to come for lunch.

Thank you for your support. As a former student at Holsenbeck, I am delighted to return as the Principal of this wonderful community. I look forward to working with you and your child.

Assistant PrincipalMs. Aperil Sellers

I am honored and excited to serve as the new Assistant Principal of Holsenbeck Elementary School, and I am fully committed to the continued success of our students. I look forward to partnering with students, staff, and families as we support the common goal of advancing student achievement. At Holsenbeck, we share a common goal which is to help each child grow socially, emotionally, and academically.

Research shows that children learn best when the significant adults in their lives, parents, teachers, and other family members, work together to encourage and support them. As your child’s first teacher, you are an integral part in the home-school partnership. When people come together to work towards a common goal, great things happen.

I look forward to getting to know you and hope you are as excited as we are for a great year. Come visit and be amazed at the wonderful things happening at Holsenbeck Elementary! If I can be of assistance in supporting your child, please do not hesitate to contact me; my door is always open.

Thank you for entrusting us with your child’s education and partnering with us.  Go Hawks!
