Inclement Weather
 

In case of inclement weather, the Barrow County School System will announce by 6:15 a.m. any school closings or school delays.  Early dismissal due to inclement weather will be announced on area radio and TV stations.

In case of early dismissal, middle and high school students will be transported home first followed by elementary students.

The following media stations are contacted by the Central Office. Please do not depend solely on one source.  The information is also posted on the Barrow County School System home page:  www.barrow.k12.ga.us.

The safety of students is the primary concern when inclement weather is a problem.

If school is dismissed early, we cannot delay the departure of the buses long enough for all students to call their parents.  Students must be sent home immediately. 

Parents have been sent home a form to fill out and return with emergency plans.  Parents please go over plans with your student(s).   
Information includes form of  transportation:
if student will ride regular bus,
if student will go to a neighbor's house,
if student will be picked up by car or other.
