Children are valued individuals with unique needs and should be provided with a variety of learning experiences, resources, and opportunities to demonstrate their abilities.
All children can learn and learning is the chief priority of the school.
All children have choices and are responsible for the results of those choices.
Children’s self-esteem and achievements are directly related to positive relationships and mutual respect among and between parents, staff, students, and community.
Parents, teachers, and community members have tremendous responsibility in preparing our children to be successful and contributing citizens in our society.
A safe and physically comfortable environment promotes learning for our children.
Our children will apply knowledge gained by solving real life problems.
Success for Every Student as we Build Our Learners Dynamically by being respectful, being responsible, and being ready to learn.
Our mission is to provide children with a safe and positive educational environment in order that they may become successful and contributing citizens in our society. We believe educational success is the result of a cooperative effort of the home, school, and community.
Statham Elementary has an incredible history. The school is over 100 years old. In 1906 the first all brick school building was built. This was known as Statham High School. The cost to build the building was $8000.00. In 1909 the school had its first graduating class. The three members of its graduating class were all girls. In 1940 a project to build a gymnasium was started but was stopped because of World War II. The gym was finally completed in 1942. The last year Statham served as a high school was 1956.
Throughout the years, Statham Elementary has gone through several renovations and construction. Up until 2007, the building could house approximatley 500 students. In 2007, a 2-story addition was added to the back of the school. The school can hold about 1000 students. Our community continues to grow but Statham Elementary continues to be “The Most Inviting Place In Town”.
