A student must have attended a Barrow County high school for four (4) consecutive semesters his/her junior and senior years to be eligible to be named valedictorian or salutatorian of his/her graduating class. The selection of the valedictorian and salutatorian shall be made at the end of first semester of the senior year. If selected as valedictorian or salutatorian, the student must be enrolled during the spring term of their senior year and complete the term to receive the distinction.
