Dear WBMS Families,
As the principal of WBMS, it gives me great pleasure to welcome you to our school. For the past six years, I have had the opportunity to work with students in Barrow County, first as a teacher, assistant principal, and now principal of this outstanding school. I am passionate about my students and the education that we are providing for them.
At Winder-Barrow Middle School, we believe in the power of relationships by becoming personally invested in the success and development of each of our students. Middle school years are very important, and our goal is for all of our students to learn, grow, and achieve as much as possible from the time they enter middle school until they enter high school. The faculty, staff, and administration at WBMS will do everything we can to help each and every one of our students succeed. We encourage all of our students to get involved and to take advantage of the many opportunities that are available to them this school year.
Students should leave WBMS not just demonstrating a mastery of the curriculum, but inspired with a desire to continue to learn and grow, so that they can make a difference in the world and meet their individual potential as citizens.
Your support as a parent or community member is integral to our success! we couldn't do it without you! As you know, middle school is a time of change, and our students will be able to handle this change more easily with your involvement. Although many middle school students may say they don't want their parents interfering, I have personally seen that most of our most successful and well-adjusted students have parents who remain actively involved in their children's education and personal lives during the adolescent years. I urge you to become a familiar face at WBMS, so we can work together to provide the best education for your student. If you are interested in volunteering or becoming involved in any way, please call the school at 770-867-2116.
Our hope is that students and families will take pride in becoming a part of our "TRUE" Bullpup family and will have a great three years while attending WBMS.
Sincerely,
Dr. Jennifer Wood
