Westside Middle School was recently named one of 25 Georgia Schools of Excellence in Student Achievement for 2010. This award was given to schools that have shown the greatest improvement or highest achievement across the state. Dr. Welch contributes our success to “steady progress and a sustained focus on providing instructional quality, effective planning and preparation, and professional learning that yields improvement”. This recognition would not be possible without our outstanding educators who provide quality instruction throughout the year. As a token of appreciation, a group of parent volunteers treated our teachers to a duty free lunch. During this time, our teachers had the opportunity to enjoy a delicious meal; and our parent volunteers were also recognized by Dr. Welch with a Certificate of Appreciation.
