Class Activities

DC

Over the summer, a group of 30 Westside students had the opportunity to explore many of our Countries historical landmarks. Some of the highlights included a tour of the Jamestown plantation, a visit to all the historical monuments and memorials in Washington, DC, a tour of our Nation’s Capital, a visit and tour of the National Cathedral, ArlingtonCemetery, and Gettysburg,Pennsylvania. This experience was full of great experiences and life-long memories.

Over the summer, many of our students took part in our Summer Reading program. These students were recognized by our Media Specialist, Ms. Persinger and Assistant Principal, Ms. Rolader. Students received a $5.00 gift certificate to our fall book fair and a free ice cream treat. We are very proud of all the students who participated.

Summer Reading
Visitor from England

Recently, our 6th graders enjoyed a visit from Monica Gray, a school teacher from England. Ms. Gray shared with the students about the culture, climate, and other interesting facts about the schools in England. The students were very inquisitive and interested in the various topics Ms. Gray shared.
