Purchasing a Device

In you are looking to purchase a device for use at home, our Information Technology Team has put together guidelines and considerations to help you make the best purchase.

Requesting a Device from BCSS

BCSS has limited devices that may be checked out by students. If available, devices will be distributed on an as needed basis. We will do our best to accommodate requests for Chromebooks to be used for distance learning, but we cannot guarantee that we can provide a device to a distance learning student. Please contact your school to request a device. Families will be responsible for providing their own internet access.

Families that already have a Chromebook (from the spring) and are continuing distance learning will not need to return their devices and pick up new ones. They can continue to use the one they have now, even if they are switching to another school in the district.

If you are having technical issues with BCSS Chromebooks signed out to your student, please email student support at studentsupport@barrow.k12.ga.us. Please note this email can only answer technical questions regarding Chromebooks. For other issues, such as obtaining a Chromebook or alternatives to technology use, please reach out to your child’s principal.
