Physical Education/Health & Head Volleyball Coach

I am entering my 29th year of teaching this year. I taught at Athens Academy for 9 years and Oconee County for 2 years. I have enjoyed my 18 years at Apalachee. My three daughters graduated from Apalachee. I also have a 13 year old son attending Haymon Morris. I have been happily married to my high school sweetheart for 29 years. We dated for 8 years before marrying, and she is the reason I am an educator. I am the product of a teenage pregnancy. My early years of life were tough but a stepfather came into my life and became a dad to me. He created opportunities for me I would have otherwise not had.

I earned my Bachelors of Business Administration from the University of Georgia in 1990 and my Masters of Education in 1997. I was blessed to be the first college graduate in my family. Along the way I was privileged to play football at UGA for Vince Dooley in 1988, his last year coaching. I was the 1988 Offensive Scout Team player of the year. I then played baseball at UGA in 1989 and 1990, where I was the starting 2nd baseman on the 1990 National Championship Team.

Through my educational years, I have coached many sports: Football, Basketball (girls and boys), Baseball, Golf, and most recently 2010- current Volleyball. I considered myself to be a very blessed man to have lived the life I am living, and I hope to inspire our Apalachee students to try and live the dreams they dream.
