Lauranne Teyssier moved to Georgia from Grenoble, France as a young child. She grew up in Gwinnett
County and graduated from Peachtree Ridge High School. Throughout high school and college, she
showed her school spirit playing the Baritone/Euphonium in the marching band. Lauranne graduated
from the University of Georgia in 2018 with a Bachelor's degree in Special Education - General

She has lived in Athens, GA for 6 years. She enjoys spending time outside with her cat, Puddles,
and sitting by the creek on her property.

She began her teaching career at Bear Creek Middle School in Statham after hearing about Barrow
County’s focus on innovative teaching. Her favorite part of being a teacher is making connections
with students and their families. Lauranne is excited to continue growing as a teacher and serving
the Barrow community at the Barrow Arts & Sciences Academy.
