HS Math Teacher

Cristina Carrigan grew up in Haddonfield, New Jersey. In 2011, she received her Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and Social Work from Franklin Pierce University in Rindge, New Hampshire. In 2013, she moved to Athens, Georgia to receive her Masters in Math Education from the University of Georgia. Cristina has taught middle and high school level mathematics in Barrow and Jackson County, Georgia. Her lesson plan, focusing on incarceration rates, was featured in a 2020 published book, High School Mathematics Lessons to Explore, Understand, and Respond to Social Injustice.

When Mrs. Carrigan is not in the classroom, she enjoys exercising and being outdoors. Having played collegiate level soccer, Cristina spends most Sundays playing in adult soccer leagues in Athens. She currently lives in Athens with her husband Ryan and son Walker.
