Cat Mills

Media Specialist

Cat Mills was born in Anchorage, Alaska, and has gotten to live all over the country before settling down in Georgia in 1993. She graduated from Dacula High School in 1999, and spent her senior year as a dual-enrolled student at what is now UNG. She took her sweet time getting through college, picking up an Associates of Art in Studio Art in 2005, working corporate management jobs in banking and coffee, until she graduated from UGA with a Bachelor of Arts in English in 2012. Cat worked for UGA for 5 years and completed her Masters in Education in Instructional Technology at Valdosta State. While she's currently working on her Specialists in Instructional Technology at UWG, she's kicking around the idea of getting a PhD at UGA instead because she's a life long learner who just can't seem to stop accumulating degrees.

Cat lives with her 13 year old daughter, her 9 year old dog, and way too many houseplants in a tiny house surrounded by cow pastures. She's been working for Clarke County Schools for the last two years as a Media Specialist, but when she heard about the opportunity at BASA, she knew she had to jump on it. She's looking forward to meeting all the students she'll get to work with, and is so excited to introduce them to the way the Research and Design Center (aka: the Library) can help them succeed in school, life, and finding their next favorite book. Cat is also actively taking book requests, video game tournament ideas, and is looking for a set of students to be the inaugural Student Advisory Council (the StAC's) to give input on the purchasing and planning decisions of the RDC so that it reflects the needs and wants of the student body.
