Maureen Gates

Hello! My name is Maureen Gates. I grew up on Long Island, New York and moved to Georgia in 1991 when I was 21. I received my Bachelors degree from UGA, my Masters degree from Piedmont College, and a certification in ESOL.  I began my teaching career back in 1995. I started teaching in Pre-K and then moved to 1st grade for one year, and after that I taught 3rd grade for about 12 years. I taught for about 9 years in Athens, two years in Gwinnett County and this is my 8th year at Bramlett. I loved teaching 3rd grade, however my absolute dream grade was 2nd grade. I was so excited to be able to move to 2nd grade three years ago! I love scrapbooking, reading, traveling, shopping on Amazon, Michael’s and Hobby Lobby. My favorite colors are red, teal and coral. I am so excited to be able to start another year at Bramlett.
