Cathy Mason

Gifted (P-5) - CLES

Cathy Mason is committed to her students’ success both inside the classroom and in life. Cathy is in her 25th year of teaching and continues to strive to foster creativity, compassion, and critical thinking in a highly engaging classroom environment and believes that student success is created through meaningful relationships and student engagement. Her classroom is full of joy, fun, and a love of learning. A 1995 graduate of the University of Georgia, Cathy has a BS in Early Childhood Education and Child Development.

In 2011, Cathy earned her Masters in Educational Leadership at the University of Dayton. Cathy has been a 1st, 3rd and 4th grade homeroom teacher, and currently serves as the 1st through 5th grade SCOPE/gifted  teacher at County Line Elementary.

Cathy teaches advanced content and integrates project-based learning, STEM, and fine arts throughout all her instructional courses. Cathy is the chairperson for the Gifted Department and also serves as a member of the CLES Leadership Team. In addition, she is a pilot teacher for Barrow County’s Center for Innovative Teaching Program.
