Macinda West

Hello! My name is Macinda West, and I currently teach 2nd grade at Yargo Elementary School. I am so excited to begin my 23rd year of teaching! Over the past two decades, I have enjoyed working with second, third, and fifth graders. I love to learn and continue to seek ways to further my education. I currently hold a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Elementary Education in addition to a Specialist’s Degree in Educational Administration and Supervision. I am also certified in Gifted Education.

My husband and I live in Good Hope with our 2 sons, Ethan and Caden. My boys keep me busy outside of school with football, lacrosse, soccer, jazz band, pep band, and piano lessons. In my free time, I love to travel with my family and spend time at the beach and in the mountains. I also love to read, listen to music, and go to Disney!

Providing a nurturing environment where my students can thrive and become life-long learners is my goal. I am thrilled to be working as a 2nd grade advanced content teacher this year! I promise to not only teach your children but to also love and look out for them while they are at school. I look forward to working as a team to make this the best school year ever!
