Meals for children

Updated 4/2 1:30pm

Changes to grab-n-go and meal deliveries

Please note the following changes to how Barrow County School Nutrition and volunteers will be distributing meals at no cost for children.

Friday, April 3 from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. - Grab-n-Go and delivery meals provided for the following days: Friday, April 3, Saturday, April 4, and Sunday, April 5. (There will not be meals provided during spring break from April 6-10.)

Monday, April 13 from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. - Grab-n-Go and delivery meals provided for Monday, April 13.

On Tuesday, April 14, we will go to meal distribution two times per week from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. as follows:

  • Tuesdays – Meals will be served at AHS and WBHS via drive thru and pick up for community groups who are serving from a centralized location to their community. Meals will also be delivered by Bethlehem Church for Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
  • Fridays – Grab-n-Go meals and deliveries will be made for Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday.

These changes will increase the social distancing while providing meals 7 days per week to all students.

More Information about Grab-n-Go Meals

For Grab-n-Go, you will still pick up at Apalachee High School (behind the school by the stadium) and Winder-Barrow High School (front of the school by cafeteria)NO cafeteria seating or school entry. You can review the menus here.

Grab-N-Go bags include both breakfast AND lunch, so you only need to come by once. Children must be present when you come to the drive thru for pick-up.

Per USDA guidelines:

  • Meals will only be available for children 18 and under in the automobile
  • 1 meal bag per child per day
  • Parents will not be allowed to pick up meal bags for children who aren’t with them
  • No adult meals will be available
