Winder-Barrow High School was recently recognized by the College Board for its outstanding Advanced Placement programs. Among the accolades, WBHS received the designations of an AP Humanities, AP STEM, and AP STEM Achievement school. We are extremely proud of the hard work and dedication put forth by our teachers and students, for they truly exemplify the meaning of “GG” effort!
From the College Board:
AP Humanities School – “Schools with students testing in the following AP courses: at least one English course, two history/social science courses, one fine arts course and one world language course.”
AP STEM School – “Schools with students testing in at least two AP math courses and two AP science courses (AP Calculus AB, AP Calculus BC, AP Statistics, AP Biology, AP Chemistry, AP Environmental Science, AP Physics 1, AP Physics 2, AP Physics C, AP Computer Science A, AP Computer Science Principles).”
AP STEM Achievement School – “Schools with students testing in at least two AP math courses and two AP science courses and at least 40% of AP math and AP science exams earning scores of 3 or higher.”
WBHS currently offers 14 AP courses ranging from US History to AP Calculus, and is committed to providing our AP students with a challenging curriculum, outstanding pedagogy, and preparation for the rigors of college. In addition, we look to offer our AP opportunities to those in traditionally underserved and/or underrepresented populations, thereby providing greater access and the benefits of the AP experience to an increasingly large and diverse community of learners.
