Macy Deaton

Macy Deaton joins Austin Road Elementary as a First Grade teacher.

"I love working with kids, especially the littles. They learn and grow so much in such a short amount of time. They are finding things that they love and want to share those with everyone. Being able to be a part of that learning process is a treat in itself. I get to be a part of a child’s life in a special way and help them find out and learn to be who they are meant to be. Helping them on their journey is a reason why I became a teacher!"

"I have a 3-year-old German Shepherd named Maya. I have no kids of my own but she is my baby. My niece and nephew like to spend their weekends with me when they can."

Interests: "You can usually find me with my niece and nephew in my free time, as well as with my dog, Maya. I like to watch movies, do puzzles, go for hikes, be with family, or travel to new places and explore."
