Mrs. Sorrells's Class at the TOMECON Reading Competition
Congratulations to students in Mrs. Sorrells's 5th grade class for their amazing performance in the TOME Student Literacy Society Reading Bowl. Students in Mrs. Sorrells's class read 7 chapter books this year and competed in an online reading bowl where they placed FIRST! Their first place finish in the online reading bowl allowed them to advance to the face to face reading bowl at this year's TOMECON Reading Convention at The University of North Georgia Gainesville Campus. Students competed against 4 other schools and placed second overall in the face to face reading bowl. While at the convention students were able to attend sessions about reading and writing and literacy. Students were also able to listen to talks from authors such as Alan Gratz, Geoff Rodkey, and Kate Hannigan. Congratulations to all of these students for their great work!
