CLES Be The Voice

CLES Be The Voice

Be THE Voice® is a student-driven initiative that seeks to bring a kinder, more inclusive school environment to students. This program is built upon developing  a student's interpersonal skills through first-hand experiences  which results in building confident student leaders in the classroom, school and community.

CLES is proud to be involved in the Be THE Voice (BTV) campaign. At the very heart of the Be THE Voice  is the belief that an empowered student is the “true agent of change” – now and in the future.

Students signed a poster to committ to doing their part to bring kindness, compassion and inclusion to CLES. During the month of October, Ms. Connell and Mr. T’s class’s created “Buddy Benches”. These benches symbolize including all of our friends  in play as to encourage positive, healthy social development for all students!

Our BTV! project for November is simple and fun. Our focus this month is spreading kindness through inclusiveness. The November project is setting up a time for our students to write positive messages of kindness on the sidewalks around the school with chalk (sounds like language arts to me). Every  classroom is encouraged to participate in this month's projectby finding a 20-minute block to take the kids out and let them go to work.

December is quickly approaching, and I am VERY excited about the monthly project. We will be doing a sock drive during the first week of the month. We will be asking for NEW pairs of socks to donate to local clothing charities. Socks are often one of the most requested items at clothing drives so this is a project that can have a BIG impact on our community. More information to come!
