Mr's Rice's first grade class had a wonderful experience learning the life cycle of a chicken. With a incubator in her classroom, students excitedly anticipated the arrival of the new hatchlings. Seven days prior to the first hatching, they candled the eggs and were able to watch the chicks develop with a movement of a wing and a flutter. The students enjoyed these chicks for a few days in their class before the chicks (Chicken Nugget, Fluffy, April, Isabella and Hudson-named for a student that shared a birthday with one of the chicks) were taken to their forever home at Washington Farms.
