Lisa Mattison

Fourth Grade Teacher

Lisa Mattison is a teacher who loves 4th graders and whose goal is to strengthen their math skills to convince students that they can be successful.

Lisa believes that all students are capable of being successful at math with a little practice. She believes that confidence is key to their success and longs to see her students walk in the door each morning eager to learn something new.

Lisa has taught for 19 years, all in Barrow County Schools. She started by teaching 6th grade at Russell Middle School for 9 years before staying home with her young children for the next 12 years. She has taught 4th grade at County Line for the last 10 years.

Lisa believes all subjects are important, but has a passion for helping students get over their fear and dislike of math. She believes that students need a solid mathematical foundation to be successful. When students see they are successful, they will have the confidence to tackle more difficult problems.

Lisa is certified to teach K-8. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Toccoa Falls College.  She has a gifted endorsement as well. She believes her job is to prepare future generations to be confident, kind, caring, well rounded members of society.
