We are excited to open Kindergarten Registration for the 2020-2021 school year for the Barrow County School System. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we have adjusted our spring registration process so that it can be completed online.
Families can now register your child online at https://registration.barrow.k12.ga.us. In this process, you will be asked to upload all of the required documents using mobile capture, which enables you to take a picture of your documentation at home and upload it to us. Children must be 5 years old on or before Sept. 1, 2020 to attend kindergarten for the upcoming school year.
We recommend that you have the following documentation ready before you start the registration process:
- Proof of Residency (dated within 30 days) such as a utility bill (electric, gas, water, cable/satellite, garbage or house phone), settlement statement or rental/lease agreement
- Student’s Social Security Card (which is used solely for the purposes of identification and for application for the Hope scholarship and other post-secondary applications). Parents have the option of signing a waiver stating that they do not wish at the time of enrollment to provide a Social Security number.
- Student’s Birth Certificate or other acceptable proof of age and identity
- Georgia Immunization Form 3231
- New Health Form 3300
In the past, we have asked families to register by their zoned elementary school on a specific day. With the new online process, you can now register at any time. Please note that kindergarten screenings will take place at the elementary schools when we return for school in the fall.
Our staff will be reviewing each application and its documentation. Please upload the required documents within 5 days of completing the pre-registration. You will be notified via email once your enrollment is complete. If any additional information is needed to complete the registration process, you will also be contacted by our staff.
