Introducing HMMS Curbside Library Checkout!
Who can participate?
Any HMMS student who is involved in distance/digital learning, including students on an A/B schedule. Once students are in-person at HMMS 5 days a week, they will be able to check out books in the library.
How does it work?
1) Go to https://destiny.barrow.k12.ga.us and put a few good books on hold. View our directions for putting books on hold.
2) An email will be sent to your school @barrowcountyschools.org email when your holds are ready. You will have 10 school days to pick up your holds.
3) After you get the email, come up to HMMS between 8:30am-2:30pm Monday-Friday (regular school days only.) Pull up to the curb in front of the school and call HMMS at 678-963-0602 to let us know you are here to pick up your library holds.
4) Please stay in your car! We will bring your holds to you and take any book returns you have.
How many books can I check out?
You can have a total of 3 books checked out—this total includes library books and textbooks from ANY BCSS school. Make sure you check your library account when you place your holds so you know what you need to return. We are happy to take returns from any BCSS school; we will get your books back to the correct BCSS school for you.
What if I can’t get to HMMS to participate in Curbside Library Checkout?
No worries! There are tons of great books available online. View some of the best options for FREE eBooks and audiobooks.
