Barrow County School System will begin using the ParentSquare mass communications platform during the 2025-26 school year to connect with families, students, and staff.
With ParentSquare you’ll be able to:
- Receive all district, school and classroom communication via email, text, and/or app - you choose!
- Choose to receive information as it comes or all at once with a daily digest at 6pm. (Urgent updates will be sent immediately.)
- Keep up with events happening at your student's (or students') schools all in one place and RSVP for events.
- Easily sign up to volunteer and/or bring items for school events.
- Securely receive important student documents.
- Communicate in your preferred language
- Direct message teachers, staff and other parents
- Sign forms & permission slips

What to Expect Next:
Using contact information in Infinite Campus and our staff directory, ParentSquare automatically generates an account for each person. You will start receiving emails from ParentSquare - along with your usual Remind messages - in October 2025. Please add the ParentSquare email to your safe sender list so you don't miss a message.
The next phase of ParentSquare will include a message to activate your account. Details about that are below. Additionally, new websites will go live in January, keeping all communications on one convenient platform for staff, families, and students.
How To Activate your Account (Winter 2025):
Later this school year (winter 2025), you will receive an invitation email or text to join ParentSquare. Please click the link to activate your account. It takes less than a minute. We encourage you to access your account when invited so you can download the mobile app and update your preferences on when and how you are notified.
You can use ParentSquare on any device. You can download the free mobile app for iOS or Android or use the desktop version at www.parentsquare.com.
Does ParentSquare replace Remind?
BCSS and teachers will continue to use Remind for the remainder of the 2025-2026 school year, but ParentSquare will replace Remind starting with the 2026-27 school year. Teachers will start training on the ParentSquare platform during January through May of 2026. ParentSquare will be the main tool for all district and school communications with families and students starting in July 2026.
Why ParentSquare?
BCSS chose ParentSquare after an RFP process and Board of Education approval. The platform offers robust features, including secure document sharing, school and district websites, an event calendar with an RSVP option, content-rich newsletters, and more. Using a single platform will enable district and school administrators to share important updates with families and staff more efficiently and effectively in one place, rather than relying on multiple tools for updates. ParentSquare's app also allows you to have all the information in one place, preventing families from having to search in multiple locations.
