District Technology Competition
The Barrow County School System Technology Competition is affiliated with the Northeast Georgia Student Technology Competition and the Georgia Student Technology Competition. Their vision is to challenge and empower students to be leaders in the digital age through a statewide competition. Our competition is open to all BCSS students in grades 3-12.
2025-2026 COMPETITION OVERVIEW

Interested students should contact their school's STC Advisor to let them know they want to participate.

Students may participate either individually or as a team of two students.

Each student may only present one project in a single category for the competition.

Students are expected to use their own device to demonstrate to the judges how they created their project.

Students are expected to be able to set up their project without assistance.
- Each school will establish a method to review their students' projects before Nov. 20, 2025.
- Project nominations for the system-level competition must be submitted no later than Nov. 20, 2025.
- School STC Advisors will handle the nominations of projects to the system-level competition.
- Each school may nominate exactly one project per category per division* to advance to the system-level Student Technology Competition.
- Divisions are 3rd/4th Grade, 5th/6th Grade, 7th/8th Grade, 9th/10th Grade, and 11th/12th Grade.
- There are two different divisions at each school level.

The system-level competition will be held in-person on Thursday, Dec. 11th at the Center for Innovative Teaching

Specific times for each project interview will be shared with the participants prior to the event.

BCSS school busses will shuttle participating students between their school and the competition location.
