Georgia PEACH Education Tax Credit

The Barrow County School System is participating in the Georgia PEACH Education Tax Credit, an opportunity for individuals and businesses to advance public education at no additional cost to you or your corporation.

All Georgia taxpayers are eligible to receive a dollar-for-dollar state income tax credit in exchange for a contribution to GFPE. Funds raised through the PEACH Education Tax Credit support innovation and programs that may not be possible without the support of GFPE.

Apply today

  • Georgia taxpayers interested in supporting public education may apply to be pre-approved by the Georgia Department of Revenue (DOR) for the PEACH Education Tax Credit. There are limited tax credits available each year ($15 million for 2025), so all interested taxpayers must submit a 2025 tax credit application to the Georgia Foundation for Public Education (GFPE) before making their donation. GFPE will handle the rest and remind you when additional action is required.

  • When you participate, your contribution goes straight to our school district. These funds are used to enhance educational opportunities, provide resources for our students and teachers, and support innovative programs. The Peach Education Tax Credit is a great way to give back to your local schools.

  • Every dollar you contribute is matched by a dollar-for-dollar credit on your Georgia state income taxes. Instead of sending those tax dollars to the state, you can keep them local and invest directly in Barrow County Schools at no additional cost. It’s a simple way to support the students and educators in your community while deciding how your tax dollars are used.

  • No. In most cases, you’re redirecting tax dollars you would have paid to the state anyway. The amount you contribute is credited back on your Georgia state income taxes.
