2023 Spelling Bee

2023 BCSS Spelling Bee Champion

Congratulations to Burnita Chalmers, a 6th grader from Bear Creek Middle School, for winning the Barrow County School System 2023 District Spelling Bee! Burnita will represent BCSS at the Region 3 competition on Feb. 25.

The runner-up is Akwasi Opoku, a 7th grader from Haymon-Morris Middle School. If Burnita is unable to compete in the Region 3 competition, Akwasi will take her place as the BCSS representative.

We wish Burnita good luck for the next round and congratulate all of our 2023 school level Spelling Bee champions and alternates!
