WBHS Junkyard Doggs

Junkyard Doggs

Winder-Barrow High School Senior Hamilton McElhannon founded Junkyard Doggs in 2021 after he saw a need for students to earn service hours on campus as well as a need to clean our community. Club sponsor Laurie Allen says, “It has been fantastic to see our students take an interest in keeping the school community cleaner.”

Hamilton is also a part of Scout Troop 750 made up of 25 boys. Their troop has five scouts who completed their Eagle Scout project and three who are completing their Eagle Scout projects. Eagle Scout is the highest rank a young person can reach in Scouting. In fact, only around 5% of all scouts who join ever reach the Eagle rank. By the end of the school year, Troop 750 will have eight Eagle Scouts, currently all Winder-Barrow High School students.

Each Scout is making a difference in our community with service projects. Take a look!
