The Barrow County School System Board of Education voted to approve the student calendars for the 2024-2025 and 2025-2026 school years during their Nov. 7 meeting.
Assistant Superintendent of Support Services Dr. J.B. Bowen presented the results of the public survey from August. The results helped determine the calendars, along with feedback from staff and administration. There were 4,782 respondents. The majority favored an early August start date (60%), Spring Break during the first week of April (66%), and the last day of school before Memorial Day (87%).
Staff professional learning and planning day calendars will be ready soon and added. Digital Learning Days are anticipated to be added as soon as those dates are determined.
