Welcome Everyone!

A little about me is that this is going to be my 3rd year teaching and my 3rd year at Winder-Barrow High School. In the picture I am on the bottom right, the person on the top left is my sister.

I got my Masters in Teaching at the University of Georgia as well as my undergraduate degree in English.

I will be teaching Regular 9th, 9th Honors Literature, and British Literature this school year and I am very excited for it. I am also the coach for the WBHS Swim Doggs!

If you will need any extra tutoring outside of the normal class time, I usually will stay after school till 3:30, but I ask that you give me a heads up and I will make time in my schedule to stay longer after school, especially as swim season starts later in the fall semester.

Certifications & Education

T-5 6th-12th
The Induction certificate is part of Georgia's tiered educator certification system and provides a statewide structure for the professional development and effectiveness of early career educators and educators new to the state of Georgia. Issuance of the Induction Pathway 1 certificate is based upon completion of a GaPSC-approved educator preparation program and all applicable Special Georgia Requirements, including content assessment. You must satisfy the following requirements (described in detail in separate correspondence) during the validity period of this certificate: Be employed by a Georgia LUA.

Reading Endorsement
The endorsement specifically works with the area of reading where students may be struggling, keeping on track, and pushing on level readers to become high level readers.

Gifted Endorsement
Educators play an important role in the lives of gifted children and their families. Their primary job is to help gifted children develop their intellectual and academic potential in collaboration with the child’s parents. Teaching gifted children is both exciting and challenging. Research shows that teachers encounter wide ranges of knowledge, skills, and abilities within their classrooms. Teachers must have the skills to differentiate their instruction to help children across the achievement spectrum to learn and grow every day.
