Construction Ready Information Night

Do you want a career, not just a job in construction? Then Construction Ready (CR) is the training you need to get you started. Construction Ready is a four-week boot-camp-style training program designed for residents of Georgia and connects graduates with top construction companies. Training is FREE to eligible applicants who reside in Georgia.

Thanks to the support of Governor Brian Kemp, funding from the Governors Emergency Education Relief funds (CARES Act) has been made available to meet education and workforce development needs allowing for "Construction Ready" expansion to train Georgia residents for Careers in the construction industry. The value of training to each student is $5,000.

A four-week training class begins Monday, June 21, 2021. Instruction takes place Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. – 5 p.m. for four weeks. PPE and lunch are included with the program. Graduates can earn up to eight industry recognized credentials:

  1. National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) Core Credential
  2. OSHA 10-Hour Card
  3. First Aid/CPR/BB/AED Certification
  4. Powder Actuated Tool Certification
  5. Laser Tool Certification
  6. Forklift Safety Awareness
  7. A.T.S.S.A. Utility Flagger Certification
  8. Competent Person Training in Fall Protection

Information Session

An information session is scheduled April 13 at 6 p.m. in the student center at the Barrow Arts and Sciences Academy, 1007 Austin Road, Winder.
