Media Center Policies & Procedures

Students

  1. No food or drink is allowed in the Media Center at computers, in the book shelves, or Computer Lab. Food and drinks are only allowed at the tables. No Cafeteria trays allowed.
  2. You must have a pass to the Media Center signed by a staff member.
  3. Sign in and out in the book located on the circulation desk.
  4. Do not save work to the computer. Save all work to your .Org account.
  5. Only 2 books may be checked out to a patron.
  6. If you have an overdue book, you may not checkout until it is returned and the overdue fine paid.
  7. Accounts must be cleared at the end of the semester (all books turned in and fines paid).
  8. Students with charges/fines on their account will not be able graduate until it is paid.
  9. If you lose or damage a book, you are responsible for paying for it.
  10. You may print school related documents for 10¢ (black/white) or 25¢ (color) a page. The first two black and white pages are free.
  11. Copies may be made for 10¢ a page.
  12. Please be responsible and return your book.

Staff

  1. No food or drink is allowed in the Media Center at computers, in the book shelves, or computer lab. Students may have snack food at the Media Center tables.
  2. Whole classes may sign-up to use the Media Center or computer lab.
  3. Please only send 2 students from a class to the Media Center with a pass. If you need to send more, please speak with the media specialists.
  4. Books and DVDs are to be checked out using the name of the individual staff member. DVDs and technology equipment are only checked out directly to WBHS staff. Do not send students or substitutes to check out items.
  5. Staff members are responsible for all media materials on their library account. Library accounts should be cleared by post-planning as noted on the year-end checklist. If any library item is lost, the staff member is responsible for the cost of replacing it.
  6. Laminating is done on Friday. Please drop items off for lamination by Thursday afternoon. Please do not drop off personal items, items for students, class sets of student work (pick a few favorites to laminate), and no one time use items. Laminating film is expensive. Please use good judgement when deciding what items to laminate.
  7. All students (including visitors/student teachers) needing to print their work will need to pay 25¢ per page for the color printer. The first two pages are free and each additional page is 10¢ a page for the black and white printer. Teachers may print instructional related documents for free. Cash money is due at the time of printing.
