Cultural Connections

The Barrow County School System proudly presents the annual Cultural Connections Series, a performing arts series at the Innovation Amphitheater.

Held at the Innovation Amphitheater in partnership with the Georgia Council for the Arts, the series brings professional artists to our community and provides entertaining performances of music, dance, poetry and more. The 2023-2024 school year events will only be offered as field trip opportunities for students.

The Bilingual Barber of Seville, The Atlanta Opera Studio Tour
Oct. 24, 2023

This is a bilingual version of Rossini's delightful and energetic The Barber of Seville. Created by stage director Kristine McIntyre, the 45-minute adaptation will be performed in Spanish and English and demonstrates the power of love to triumph over adversity of every kind.


Romeo & Juliet 60, ATLANTA SHAKESPEARE COMPANY
April 9, 2024

This small cast adaptation of William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet condenses the Bard's famous tale of star-crossed lovers into 60 minutes of romance, poetry, humor, sword play, and tragedy, all while keeping the plot intact. The show features a cast of six actors in a fast-paced, high-energy performance.


The Splendor of Chinese Dance, Atlanta Chinese Dance Company
April 16, 2024

This program is a visual feast of colorful Chinese ribbons, fans, umbrellas, handkerchiefs, drums, and more. Costumed performers will present a variety of ethnic majority and minority folk dances, classical Chinese dances, and martial arts dances.
