The Barrow County School System Board of Education voted to approve Rob Johnson as the Interim Superintendent of BCSS during a called board meeting on Tuesday, Dec. 12. Effective Jan. 1, 2024, Mr. Johnson will serve in the role until a permanent superintendent for our district is named.
Rob Johnson is no stranger to BCSS and many of our employees. He served as an Assistant Superintendent and as Principal of Winder-Barrow High School and Russell Middle School from 1999 to 2012. He went on to become Superintendent of Laurens County Schools from 2012 until he retired in 2016. He's been serving as School Climate Specialist with Northeast Georgia Regional Educational Service Agency (RESA) since 2016.
