Dr. Matt Thompson

As Chief of Staff of Barrow County School System, Dr. Matt Thompson's primary role is to assist the Superintendent by spearheading the District Strategic Plan and ensuring it is implemented appropriately. Dr. Thompson oversees the Charter System and School Governance, leads our Policy Implementation from the School Board Association, and work with the Planning & Personnel Department on planning and growth issues. He serves as facilitator for the District Leadership Team and works to establish clear communication and collaboration between the Superintendent, the executive staff, principals, directors, and other stakeholders.
