Learning Options

Students will follow their education plan in-person or as an online learner. (There is a not a combination of the two.) Students must choose which option to attend at the beginning of the enrollment process.

Attend In-Person at Barrow Foothills

  1. Full-time enrollment -- no longer enrolled in your current high school
  2. Temporary enrollment for retaking previously failed courses -- you earn credits at Foothills but can transfer them back to your original high school

Attend Classes Online

  1. Full-time enrollment -- must be 16 years old; no longer enrolled in your current high school
  2. Temporary enrollment for retaking a previously failed course -- remain enrolled in current school

BCSS strongly encourages students to consider attending Foothills in person. While online may seem more convenient, success rates are much higher for students who attend in person.

Transfer Credits Retaking Previously Failed Courses

Foothills Education Charter High School seeks to assist students by providing transfer credit opportunities when space is available. This provides a student with the opportunity to recover necessary credits through Foothills that will allow the student a timely graduation.

  • Transfer credits are available at a nonrefundable fee of $150 per Carnegie Unit for BCSS students. There is a $5 processing fee for all payments. Students enrolled full time at Foothills do not pay tuition.
  • Students may enroll in one course at a time during the August-May academic year, and up to two courses during the June-July summer period.
