"Your digital footprint is your new resume."
What is a digital footprint?
A digital footprint is a trail of data you create while using the Internet. It includes the websites you visit, emails you send, and information you submit to online services.
A passive digital footprint is a data trail you unintentionally leave online. Websites that install cookies on your devices, apps and websites that use your geolocation, and social media that uses your likes, shares and comments to profile you are examples of a passive digital footprint.
Common Sense Media has developed a series of Tip Sheets for how to manage and protect your child's digital footprint, based on their page. Click below to access each tip sheet.
Many teens believe that anything they want to do with their bodies and their phones is their business. This tip sheet will help you talk about sexting with your teen so you’re both prepared if it ever becomes an issue.
