We're happy to welcome Katie van Rooyen as our new Special Education Coordinator. Katie began teaching at Winder-Barrow High School in 2008 where she taught small group academics and Reading Enrichment. She was in the classroom for seven years before becoming Department Head and Staffing Coordinator, then Special Education Program Specialist there.
As Special Education Coordinator she will support middle school, high school, and transition programs.
"I find joy in supporting students with special needs, especially in the realm of transition. Being a team member in helping students find purpose while building independence and confidence as they work toward their post-secondary goals is very rewarding."
