Congratulations to Ysheena Lyles on her promotion to Assistant Principal at the Barrow Arts and Sciences Academy (BASA). The Barrow County Board of Education approved the career move at their July meeting.
Assistant Principal Lyles was born in Barrow County and is a proud graduate of Winder-Barrow High School. She holds a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A) and Master of Arts in Teaching (M.A.T). In May of 2023, she earned her Education Specialist Degree in Curriculum and Instruction.
She's starting her 15th year in education. She has taught English, Science, and Social Studies and held positions as Innovative Learning Coach and Magnet Coordinator.
"Education is part of my passion and purpose. My goal is to make sure every child is seen, respected, and represented. In my new role as Assistant Principal, I am excited to continue being Barrow BOLD in my approach to innovation in education while inspiring teachers and students to BLAZE the trail as well."
