This recognition showcases best practices in school governance and leadership. GSBA recognizes good school board governance to foster educational community cultures to advance student learning and achievement.
Barrow County School System (BCSS) met and/or exceeded the criteria to earn the honor of a 2023 Exemplary Board. The School Boards for BCSS have earned this recognition each time the award has been given since 2015.
Georgia superintendents and board members developed the GSBA Governance Team Recognition Program based on the state board of education’s standards for effective governance to recognize exemplary leadership.
