Barrow County School System has announced Meridith Wages Peck as the new principal of Auburn Elementary School starting with the 2026-2027 school year. Mrs. Wages Peck is currently the principal of Russell Middle School and says it will be an honor to serve as the next leader of the Tigers.

“My passion for education began in the elementary classroom. This opportunity brings me back to the foundational years, where I can lead in ways that help students see their potential and know, deeply, that they matter.”

Mrs. Wages Peck is a proud graduate of the Barrow County School System. She started her career at Yargo Elementary as a teacher and then transitioned to instructional coach and assistant principal at Bethlehem Elementary. She has spent the last seven years at RMS helping to grow student success and social-emotional support programs.

She will continue in her role at RMS for the remainder of the school year and is eager to get to know the Tiger family.
