Congratulations to Dr. Salethia James on her promotion to Director of Elementary Education. The Board of Education approved the new role at their March meeting.
Dr. James has been the proud principal of Statham Elementary School since 2019. Prior to that, she was the Assistant Principal at SES and an instructional support specialist and teacher in DeKalb County.
"I am extremely excited to support our elementary schools in the remarkable work they do every day. Our elementary schools are the foundation of our students' educational journeys, and it is my commitment to ensure that each school receives the best possible support to further enhance the educational experience for BCSS students. My prayer is that through collaboration we can continue to create a nurturing and empowering environment for all of our students."
Dr. James has 18 years of experience in education. She will begin her new role in July 2024.
