BCSS Family,
Thank you for your continued partnership, support, and encouragement for our staff and students as we’ve started this new school year.
We are preparing to honor the precious lives we lost on September 4, 2024 — Mason, Christian, Cristina, and Richard — as well as the courage and resilience our staff, students, and community have shown since that day.
On this day of remembrance:
- Each school will pause for a moment of reflection.
- Our students will spend time writing notes of appreciation to first responders, counselors, teachers, community organizations, and others they feel are heroes.
- We invite everyone to wear blue and gold on September 4 as a visible sign of support for Apalachee High School (AHS).
AHS has additional plans for its students and staff and shared that information with them today as well. In the evening, a community-led vigil will be held at 7 p.m. at the AHS flagpole, open to anyone wishing to attend.
Your school’s principal may provide additional details soon. If you have specific questions or concerns, please reach out to them.
Thank you for the love, compassion, and strength you continue to share with our students, staff, and community. All of you truly make us better each day.
Sincerely,
Dr. Dallas LeDuff, BCSS Superintendent
