Congratulations to Kari Maxey on her promotion to Principal of Yargo Elementary School, effective July 2025. The Board of Education approved the move during the May 6 meeting.
Ms. Maxey has been part of our Barrow BOLD family for several years. She’s served as the Assistant Principal at Statham Elementary since 2019. She has years of demonstrated experience in leadership and literacy instruction.

Before SES, Ms. Maxey taught second grade, EIP, and ESOL for all elementary grade levels in Clarke County. While there, she was also an Instructional Coach and a district-level K-8 Literacy Specialist.
