The Barrow Chamber of Commerce, in collaboration with Barrow County Schools CTAE (Career, Technical, and Agricultural Education), proudly hosted the BIG HIRE JOB Fair on Tuesday, May 15, 2025. The event brought together local employers and high school students for a day of career exploration, networking, and opportunity.

Held exclusively for 11th and 12th-grade students from Apalachee High School, Barrow Arts and Sciences Academy, and Winder-Barrow High School, the job fair aimed to connect students with potential part-time and full-time employment opportunities while offering valuable insight into various career paths.

Participating employers and organizations included:

  • I85 Driving Academy
  • Clean Water Consultants
  • United States Army
  • Barrow County Sheriff’s Department
  • Transcare Medical
  • City of Auburn
  • Northeast Georgia Regional Commission
  • The Classic Center
  • Republic Services
  • Northeast Georgia Health System
  • Barrow County Government
  • Georgia Power

Employers praised the students for their enthusiasm and curiosity, noting how eager they were to learn more about the industries represented. The event served as a meaningful step in preparing students for the workforce and fostering strong community partnerships.

“We were thrilled to see such a high level of engagement from the students,” said a representative from the Barrow Chamber. “Events like this are vital in helping young people envision their future and take the first steps toward meaningful careers.”
